Georgia State
They certainly gave mighty Gonzaga a run for their money, down by only two points at the conclusion in the first half but ultimately falling 93-72.
Georgia State, the Sun Belt Conference champion, came into the tournament with a 10-game winning streak and one loss since Jan. 27. Unfortunately they got stuck facing the overall number one seed their first game.
“I hate for these guys that the score really isn’t indicative of how the game was really played,” Georgia State coach Rob Lanier said. “I’m really proud of these guys, not just for the effort tonight, just for their overall contributions to our program.”
