College Football News Analysis

From College Football News:

– The Falcons don’t have it easy against Colgate to kick things off, but it’s an FCS game. There’s a week off before going to Colorado, and the trip to Navy is on the road. On the plus side, the date against Army is in Colorado Springs.

– The Mountain West season starts off at Boise State. That’s rough, but at least it gets the bad part out of the way. In Mountain play, the Colorado State game is on the road, but the Utah State showdown is at home. There’s a week off before the regular season finale against Wyoming.

– There’s a horrible break of having to play Fresno State from the West, but that’s offset by getting San Jose State, too. The Falcons miss San Diego State, but they go to Hawaii. Overall, things aren’t that bad, but there are two separate runs of three road games in four dates.

The Chicago Bears take on the red hot league leading Detroit Lions this Thanksgiving Day.  Some of us are old enough to remember the calls to have Detroit removed from the Turkey Day NFL slate due to their long standing ineptitude.  Those days are now behind us.
