Former Top Cop Accused of Pawning Guns to Fuel Gambling Addiction

An attorney for fired Hallendale, Florida police officer Yan Kleyman, claims Department superiors were well aware of his client's gambling addiction.

Kleyman is accused of pawning department-issued weapons and other items over the past year in an effort to support said addiction. Officials said he unloaded 15 different items at a local pawn shop.  Chief Sonia Quinones said Friday in a video posted on the Hallandale Beach Police Department's Facebook page that the former officer had been arrested for dealing in stolen property. Kleyman turned himself in on Friday.
