Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by federal authorities Saturday in Miami, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The charges against the pair were not immediately announced by U.S. authorities. Brady McCarron, a spokesperson for the Marshals Service, told The Associated Press that the warrant was sealed.
"Today, U.S. Marshals in the Southern District of Florida arrested Andrew and Tristan Tate pursuant to extradition proceedings," a Department of Justice spokesperson told CBS News in a statement. "These arrests were made in accordance with the treaties and law enforcement agreements governing Justice Department extraditions."
Polymarket began offering a prediction market on whether Andrew Tate will be extradited by September 30 with those chances set at 14% as of Sunday July 19.
This market will resolve to “Yes” if Andrew Tate is extradited to the United Kingdom between market creation and September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.
“Extradited to the United Kingdom” means Tate is physically transferred to U.K. government custody pursuant to an extradition process or equivalent custody transfer process. If Tate otherwise enters U.K. territory and is subsequently arrested or taken into U.K. government custody by the market’s end date, this will also qualify.
An announcement that extradition has been requested, approved, ordered, or agreed to will not qualify unless Tate is physically transferred to, arrested by, or otherwise taken into U.K. government custody by the market’s end date.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from Andrew Tate, the governments of the United States and United Kingdom, and relevant courts; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
There is also a betting market on whether Tate will be released from custody by December 31 of this year, with the chances coming in at 33%.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Andrew Tate is released from government custody by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
If Tate is released but remains under house arrest, the market will still resolve to "Yes".
If Tate is released on parole, bond, or any other condition that results in them leaving state custody, the market will resolve to "Yes".
Transporting Andrew Tate to another location of custody (e.g., a different prison, court, or hospital within the correctional system) will not suffice to resolve this market to "Yes".
Temporary outings from prison for purposes such as testifying in court or before Congress, while still under the custody of correctional authorities, will not count as a release.
Extradition or transfer to a different jurisdiction of custody will not qualify as a release from custody.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from government authorities or corrections departments; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
