Arizona and Texas will cap off the crazy 2023 MLB season over the next 10 days, but it's never too early to look ahead and forecast which teams might be in this same position next year.  SportsBetting.ag is offering MVP odds for this year's World Series that have Adolis Garcia (TEX) the favorite at 5/1 (paying out $500 on a $100 bet) and Corey Seager (TEX) a close second at 6/1 odds (paying out $600 on a $100 bet).

García is the obvious favorite as he helped propel the Rangers into the World Series with his  four hits, two of which were home runs, in Game 7 against the Astros.  This was also his fourth consecutive game hitting at least one homer.

Corey Seager is no surprise to have the 2nd shortest odds to be named World Series MVP.  He went 3-for-5 with a double and a solo home run as the Rangers routed the Astros in Game 7 of the ALCS.

For Game 1 on Friday October 27 we have Arizona starting Zac Gallen.  He has struggled his last few starts, mostly dealing with the Phillies.  In Saturday night’s loss to the Phillies in Game 5 of the NLCS, Gallen up four runs on six hits over his six innings of work. Prior to that, in Game 1 against Philadelphia, he surrendered five runs on eight hits over his five innings of work.

Is Gallen due for a good start here?  Could be.

Texas Rangers career statistics vs. Zac Gallen: They have 6 RBIs and 2 home runs in 86 at bats.  It's interesting to note that Garcia is 0-for-5 against Gallen.

The Rangers were seeing 90% of the early action as a -165 favorite and that line had not moved much. The total opened at 8.5 and dropped to 8.

Nathan Eovaldi is 4-0 in the post season for Texas.  Only three Arizona batters have gone up against him and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been dangerous, going 7 for 18 against Eovaldi with 7 RBIs and two home runs.  Gurriel Jr. has 24 home runs this season.

SportsBetting.ag also has your 2024 World Series betting odds.  You can compare the early-release 2024 odds with the early-release 2023 odds from roughly a year ago to see which teams' projected championship chances have moved the most.
