Andrew Abbott Has Some Solid Betting Value for the Reds
Cincinnati Reds starter Andrew Abbott was set to face the lowly Miami Marlins on Saturday with Abbott hoping to notch his 5th straight win.
So far this season, Abbott is 9-6 with a 3.06 ERA on a team that's been flirting with the .500 mark of late.
We look back to May 10 when Abbott's record truly began taking shape. Since that time he's had eight wins and is yet go more than one start without recording a win.
Certainly consider betting on Abbott and the Reds, especially if he is coming off a loss or no decision.
Mark your calendars for the period July 29 through July 31 when we should have Abbott starting against the Chicago Cubs. That team is hitting at .212 against Abbott, including 7 hits in 33 at bats. Abbott has permitted four RBIs and a single home run courtesy of Dansby Swanson, who is the primary batter boosting that .212 number as he's 3 for 5 against Abbott. But Swanson is also just .213 on the season so we're not sure how much of a threat he will be here.

NBC Sports had this to offer in regard to Abbott's July 8 start and win against the Rockies, a game in which he tossed seven shutout innings.
"Abbott gave up three hits, walked two and struck out eight. The win was Abbott’s ninth of the year. He certainly pitched well against the Rockies on Monday, but this is still a pitcher with a 7.17 K/9, 3.32 BB/9, and 1.40 HR/9 that pitches half of his games in Cincinnati. He has a 3.06 ERA despite a 4.81 xFIP this year largely due to his 86 percent left on base percentage and .230 BABIP allowed. He has to regress at some point. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Marlins at home this weekend."
