Are the Houston Astros finally back to form?
As this was going to press there was a very strong likelihood that the Astros could sweep their series against the Mariners, in Seattle no less. They were 19-6 in their last 25 games entering Sunday.
With their 39-61 record (24-25 at home), the Athletics aren't the best team in the MLB but they have won six of their last ten games. This should keep Houston priced nicely.
Oh yes, the best part of all: Houston is 7-1 in their last eight games versus the Athletics.
Team Rankings

Astros (No. 10)
""You never really thought the Astros were out of it, did you? They sure are in the middle of everything now, reclaiming their spot as one of the scariest teams in the American League. Remember, this is a team going for its eighth ALCS in a row. They’re not going to go away. Someone’s going to have to beat them."

Athletics (No. 27)
The Oakland fans who have supported this team for 57 years deserve better than to have their watch end like this. The A’s are set to move to Sacramento next season, and this is the way their Oakland tenure ends: not with a bang but with a whimper. The A’s are on pace to lose 100-plus games for the third season in a row, for the first time in Oakland and only the second time in franchise history (1919-1921 in Philadelphia).
How to Be a Baseball BookieJust think about it, on average there are 162 regular MLB game per season. If a gambler bets $100 on one team per season with a 10% vig, you can earn $1,620 from them. Multiply that by the number of friends you have that follow baseball and it can become quite high. |
