Baltimore area bookies have been losing badly during the first week of the 2016 Major League Baseball season thanks to the Orioles owning the best record in the league.

Local bookies who are not doing business with an offshore Pay Per Head service were most exposed.  Such firms offer live in-play wagering in addition to online casino platforms that act as loss leaders.

As this was going to publication, the Orioles had started the season 4-0 and on the verge of going 5-0.
