Bet on Angel Hernandez Next Job: Payout Odds at $500 for MLB Analyst
After three tumultuous decades of questionable umpiring, Angel Hernandez has retired from Major League Baseball.
Players, fans and managers are collectively rejoicing.
SportsBetting.ag has come up with some creative odds for Hernandez's next gig. Of course, many are positioned around the "blind ump" stigma that followed Hernandez throughout the past decade.
His retirement is effective immediately but his attorney is stressing this was the ump's choice.
“He was NOT forced out,” Hernandez’s lawyer, Kevin Murphy, told The Athletic via text message.
But he did reach a settlement with Major League Baseball to leave his job.
From ESPN:
Hernández, who worked his last game May 9 and was replaced on Lance Barksdale's crew by Jacob Metz, sued MLB in 2017, alleging the league had engaged in racial discrimination. The lawsuit was thrown out by a district court judge, a decision upheld by an appeals court last year.
