TUESDAY’S PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Chad Kuhl (3-1, 3.50 ERA) vs. Cubs RH Kyle Hendricks (12-7, 2.19)
Kuhl is 1-0 with a 2.22 ERA in four road starts and has recorded five straight quality starts since the Cubs tagged him for four runs in 2 1/3 innings on July 9.
Hendricks has allowed three or fewer earned runs in 17 straight starts dating to May 17. He is 5.40 ERA in five career turns against Pittsburgh.
The Pirates are just 3-12 in the last 15 meetings between these two ball clubs. Two of those wins were in the last four meetings however.
