Betting Baseball – The Hot Sheet: June 20
Gambling911.com looks to be on the Boston Red Sox as a +109 underdog at BetOnline in Detroit even though they stung us yesterday.
Boston has gone 7-1 of late following a loss.
They are 7-3 in their last 10 games vs. a left-handed starter, 9-4 in their last 13 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15 and 4-1 in John Lackeys last 5 starts with 4 days of rest.
More importantly, Lackey is 6-2 when starting against DETROIT with an ERA of 4.01 and a WHIP of 1.366. His team's record is 7-3 in these starts. The OVER is 4-5.
Of course, this is a Detroit team that has a record of 39-31 and sit atop the AL Central. Detroit also owns the best home record in the AL.
They, too, have bounced back well following a loss, going 6-1. They Tigers, however, are just 1-8 in their last 9 when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.
Jose Alvarez struck out seven in a 4-1 victory over Cleveland in his Major League Baseball debut last week.
Again, we will take Boston for a small play as the +109 underdog.
