Today's Top Capper Consensus Picks

Mets

Over 8 Brewers/Astros

Mets @ Marlins

The Mets come into this game as a -122 favorite.  The total is set at 7.5.

New York is 6-4 in the overall head-to-head matchup in the last ten meetings but Miami got off to an 8-0 start for this weekend's series.

Luis Severino (2-2, 3.00 ERA) will start for the Mets.

Severino pitched decently in a no-decision against the Braves on Sunday night, allowing two runs on four hits over his five-plus innings of work.

Prior to that, he was charged with four runs in five innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Rays and had a no decision in his previous start after allowing a single run in eight innings.

Braxton Garrett (0-0, 8.44 ERA) starts for the Marlins.  Francisco Lindor is 5-for-14 off of Garrett with three home runs but is just .195 on the season thus far (with 7 homers).  This Mets roster has faced Garrett on 73 occasions and hit just two other home runs outside of Lindor, both came courtesy of Pete Alonzo.  He has 10 home runs so far this season.

Garrett allowed five runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday emerging from the injury list.  That was his first start of the season having undergone minor league rehab prior to this game.

Mets are your play here.

Brewers-Astros Over 8

Top capper Robert Jones and Top 20 leaderboard capper Calvin King are both on the Over 8 in the Brewers-Astros game.

They are actually the only two of the G911 Sports Hub cappers playing the total in this game as this goes to press.

Milwaukee has scored 5 or more runs in six of their last ten games overall while allowing 5 or more over that span.

Houston has scored 5 or more in half of their last ten games while permitting opposing teams to score more than four runs in just two of their last ten games.

Bryse Wilson yielded two runs in four-plus innings for Milwaukee on Sunday in a no-decision versus the Cardinals.

Justin Verlander is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA for Houston.  The Brewers current roster has just 12 hits in 76 at bats against him (.152).

Verlander blanked the Tigers for seven innings and struck out eight in the Astros’ 9-3 victory Sunday.   Before that he suffered a loss after allowing 7 runs to the Yankees.  He had given up just three runs over a 12 inning span before that.

Houston has won 8 of their last 10 games.

The Brewers have had trouble scoring runs recently and they only have five runs in Wilson's last three starts. The Astros' offense has put up 23 runs in the team's last four wins.

We would note that a few of the better handicappers like Brian Blatt are backing the Brewers here.  But Houston is too good to pass up as they sit just below our -180 threshold at -170.
