Stephen Strasburg makes his return to the Washington Nationals rotation on Tuesday as the Nationals host the Florida Marlins.  Strasburg had been on the disabled list but he had no problems in his bullpen sessions and he will be favored against the Marlins on Tuesday.  Strasburg will be on a pitch count so the bullpen will be a factor in this contest.

SBG Global current line: Nationals - 182, Total 7 Under - 125.

Strasburg is reported to be on a 90 pitch limit for Tuesday’s game.  That probably means he won’t go more than six innings.  Strasburg has been very good this season with a 2.32 ERA and a 5-2 record.  He shut out the Marlins in six innings last month and struck out seven. He is 3-0 in his last three starts with a 2.04 ERA.

Anibal Sanchez gets the start for Florida on Tuesday. He is 8-7 with a 3.50 ERA this baseball season.  He had his routine messed up in his last start due to rain and he gave up four runs on seven hits against the Phillies. His previous start was a one-hit shutout of the Giants.  Sanchez is 1-1 in his last three starts with a 2.79 ERA. He has pitched very well in his career against the Nationals going 3-0 with a 2.97 ERA.

Florida has not played well recently and the stats are that out. The Marlins are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. the National League East. The Marlins are 1-5 in their last 6 overall. The Marlins are 1-5 in their last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Marlins are 2-5 in Sanchez’s last 7 starts. The Marlins are 35-17 in the last 52 meetings between the two baseball teams.

The Nationals are 5-1 in their last 6 home games vs. a right-handed starter. The Nationals are 4-0 in Strasburg’s last 4 starts.

The Over is 4-0 in the Marlins last 4 overall. The Over is 10-1 in the Marlins last 11 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Over is 4-1 in Sanchez’s last 5 starts overall. The Under is 22-7-2 in Sanchez’s last 31 road starts. The Over is 3-1-1 in the Nationals last 5 overall. The Over is 10-4 in the Nationals last 14 home games. The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams but the Over is 35-14-3 in the last 52 meetings in Washington.
