Giancarlo Stanton DFS Profile: Killer Numbers vs. Bumgarner
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner is a terrific pitcher, make no mistake about it. Just don’t tell this to Miami’s Giancarlo Stanton.
When it comes to daily fantasy MLB, Stanton is an absolute standout Saturday evening even with a price tag of $4800, the Marlins right-fielder has managed to go an impressive 8-for-13 at bats with 5 doubles and 4 RBIs. That has translated into a .615 ERA vs. Bumgarner.
If only Stanton’s 2015 season ERA could match up. He’s averaging around .257 for the season thus far.
His three-run homer Wednesday in a 7-5 loss to the Nationals may have been overshadowed by his striking out on two occasions, including with two men on in the ninth inning that could have resulted in his team ultimately winning.
The ESPN.com spin on Stanton is this:
The homer's well and good, and his 27 RBI currently have him in the MLB lead, but Stanton hasn't been piling up too many hits lately, as his average has fallen back to .257 after a brief surge had it as high as .284 a week ago. Stanton's walk rate has dipped notably below his average from the last two years, and his strikeout rate -- 30.3 percent -- is at its highest point since 2010. He's still one of the game's top power hitters, but there are some chinks in the armor here.
You will pay $4800 for Stanton on Saturday and he should be worth the price.
