Juan Soto signed a ridiculous 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets yesterday. Let that sink in.
And can you believe… there’s an opt-out clause after 2029 that allows Soto to earn an additional $40 million dollars if certain incentives are reached. You would think $765 million is enough of an incentive, but apparently not.
To put things in perspective, just remember that Jim Crane bought the Houston Astros in 2011 for $680 million!

Before the Soto signing by the Mets, the Yankees were the second favorites to win the World Series at 13/2 (+650). Now they are tied for fourth at 9/1.
The Mets were 14/1 before signing Soto, which was tied for sixth with the Orioles. Now they’re tied for second at 15/2 (+750) with the Braves.
What kind of numbers will Soto but up in Citi Field? The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag think his home runs will take a dip this year without the short right field porch at Yankee Stadium.
