The Colorado Rockies were getting somewhat lopsided betting action against the Sand Diego Padres Wednesday afternoon.  The line had opened at some books -180 and has since dropped to Rockies -160.

With Colorado seeing 65% of the action here and the books doing little to discourage action on them, we would tend to lean more in favor of San Diego here.

These teams have split wins and losses over their last ten games though San Diego is 5-11 in the last 16 meetings in Colorado and 5-14 in their last 19 overall.  But the Padres are on the verge of sweeping the Rockies in Colorado as part of this three-game series.

Padres RH Luis Perdomo (1-1, 6.00 ERA) bounced back from a rocky outing against Milwaukee to record the win against Houston on Friday, giving up one run and four hits over five innings.   He is 0-4 with a 6.68 ERA in seven career games (five starts) versus Colorado.

The Rockies RH German Marquez (0-1, 6.52) has issued 10 walks against six strikeouts over 9 2/3 innings in his first two starts and is 2-1 with a 5.94 ERA in three contests last season against San Diego.

The Padres are 1-5 in Perdomo’s last 6 road starts vs. a team with a losing record but are 7-3 in his last 10 starts vs. a team with a losing record.

The Rockies are 9-3 in Marquez’s last 12 home starts.

The books defintely seem to be leaning towards a Padres victory here.  This could come down to the bullpen as the starting pitching matchup seems to favor Colorado more.  GO WITH SAN DIEGO HERE.
