Major League Baseball Top Exposures April 8 - Phillies
While not a killer for the books, the Phillies were seeing some good lopside action hosting Miami and the response has been to reduce the line from -180 to -173 at many books, though most have brought the number back up to -180.

Regardless, this is a number that will still attract gamblers and it should be food for thought why any bookmaker would want to do so considering some 90% of the money line action is coming Philly's way.
Some of the books have responded by moving the line to -215. Most have not.
Miami being 5-16 in their last 21 road games certainly can explain how gamblers are drawn to Philadelphia like flies. Marlins RH Trevor Richards (0-1, 10.38 ERA) poor showing in his 2018 debut also act as a deterrent for betting Miami. Richards, though, posted a 2.53 ERA at High-A and Double-A last season, and won a rotation spot after allowing just one earned run in 12 innings this spring.
Jake Arrieta has made two career starts in Citizens Bank Park, going 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA in one of baseball’s more hitter-friendly stadiums.
But Miami should come out on top here when looking exclusively at how the bookmakers are reacting to the action coming in on this game. I suspect they are high on Richards.
