Cubs Javier Assad allowed one earned run over 5 2/3 innings while striking out seven to earn the win on Tuesday against the Tigers. Prior to that game, Assad allowed one run on five hits in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Guardians.

Adam Oller was lit up for five runs over five runs over 4 2/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Diamondbacks. He is due for a rebound here.

Diamondbacks @ Red Sox

Merrill Kelly will start for the Diamondbacks on Sunday. He's 3-0 with a 3.63 ERA. In 36 at bats, the Red Sox have just four RBIs against him.

Kelly last allowed six runs in five innings and got a no-decision against the Rays on Sunday so he may be due for a good outing here.

Tanner Houck is 8-8 with a 3.01 ERA.

Houck allowed three runs (two earned) and got a no-decision against the Astros on Monday. He does not have a win over his last six starts.
