Hot Padres

The San Diego Padres are the hottest team over the last two weeks, winning eight of their last ten games.

They are playing in Pittsburgh for the first part of this week.

Pittsburgh is actually 4-2 in this series.

Only five Pirates have faced Padres starter Dylan Cease but there were 35 at bats. Only two RBIs were permitted.

Cease allowed just three hits and one run across 5 2/3 innings in an 8-1 win over the Dodgers. Cease walked three and struck out six.

Bailey Falter allowed one earned run on six hits over 5 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s win over the Astros.

Giants @ Nationals

The San Francisco Giants are another hot team right now that should be considered in your wagers.

They're playing in Washington this series, winning Game 1, so you'll be getting some good value.

Hayden Birdsong is 3-0 with a 2.97 ERA for San Francisco.  He returns to the team.  Birdsong was surprisingly optioned to Triple-A San Jose after shutting out the Rockies over five innings in his last start due to a logjam of pitchers vying for spots in the Giants’ rotation.

The Nats start MacKenzie Gore, who is 6-9 with a 4.54 ERA.
