Red Sox @ Twins
Two of the top G911 Sports Hub handicappers are backing Boston today. The Twins have won the last four games against Boston and are up 2-0 in this current series.
Cooper Criswell has been pitching solid for Boston, going 2-1 with a 1.65 ERA.
Criswell threw five shutout innings in a win over the Giants on Tuesday, allowing two runs while striking out four and walking one. Prior to that he blanked the Guardians for five innings. His prior start was also against the Guardians where he gave up four runs — one earned — over 2 1/3 innings.
Joe Ryan (1-1, 3.38 ERA) will be starting for the Twins.
Ryan gave up two runs over six innings on Monday in a no-decision against the White Sox and, before that, allowed three runs with eight strikeouts across six innings in a win over the White Sox.
The Red Sox are a +140 dog here.
Red Sox Missing Pieces"It is hard to go against a Twins team putting it together offensively and on the mound over the last 12 games. The Twins have won high-scoring games and pitchers' duels at this point. The Red Sox will now have to face the Twins' ace Joe Ryan in the series finale. Ryan is a swing-and-miss pitcher which should play in his favor in this game. The Red Sox strike out frequently and have several key pieces missing that have affected their offense. Red Sox starter Criswell has pitched well since being called up, with a .098 WHIP to his credit, but he gets a lot of balls put in play which should give the Twins an advantage in this game. The Twins will stay hot on Sunday with another win." - Winners and Whiners |
Brewers @ Cubs
Chicago Cubs career statistics vs. Freddy Peralta have only 9 hits in 76 at bats with a single home run and five RBIs.
For Chicago, Javier Assad is 2-0 with a 1.97 ERA. He allowed one run on five hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Tuesday and struck out five over 5 2/3 innings while allowing just a run in a no-decision against the Astros prior to that.
Four of the last seven games in this series have resulted in 6 or fewer runs, making the under 6.5 quite attractive here.
