The New York Yankees are among the hottest teams so far in 2024.  Heading into the June 20 they owned a 51-24 record and are winning around 60% of their games.  Needless-to-say, the Yankees should be considered among your betting options on a daily basis.

Gill Rebound Wednesday June 26 vs. Mets?

(June 21, 2024) - Luis Gil allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Orioles on Thursday.  He's now 9-2 with a 2.77 ERA and will need to save face following that embarrassing performance.  Expect Gil and the Yankees to play especially well here.

The price should be decent enough too as the Mets are playing right around the .500 mark at home.

Sean Manaea (4-3, 4.16 ERA) starts for the Mets.  The Yankees have hit three homers off of Maneaa along with 15 hits in 49 at bats.

Manaea allowed three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Rangers. He struck out six and walked three in a loss.  He had a win prior to this.

Expect a Yankees victory and possibly an Under as 5 of the last 7 meetings have failed to see more than seven runs scored.

vs. the Atlanta Braves and Marcus Stroman (Saturday June 22)

(June 19, 2024) - Marcus Stroman struggled in a losing effort against the Red Sox on Sunday night, giving up four runs on seven hits over his five innings of work.  But he's also struggled against the Braves, allowing 20 hits in 67 at bats.

Charlie Morton has been beaten up badly by the Yankees. He's .310 versus the Yankees having allowed 16 RBI's in 145 at bats (45 hits) and seven home runs.  Juan Soto is 7 for 11 against him with 3 of those home runs.

Morton is also coming off a win, having allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a win over the Rays on Saturday.

Yankees are really looking like a solid play here.

vs. the Atlanta Braves and Carlos Rodon (Friday June 20)

(June 19, 2024) - This one is taking place in New York against a good team so we should see the price stay below -180.  Atlanta is also 6-4 in the series over the last ten meetings.  Atlanta won six of their last seven games overall ahead of Thursday.

Carlos Rodon is 9-3 with a 3.28 ERA.  He struggled in Saturday night’s loss to the Red Sox, surrendering five runs on seven hits over his five innings of work.  One would expect him to rebound here.

Chris Sale is 9-2 with a 2.98 ERA.  He's faced off against six Yankees but those have amounted to 71 at bats with 10 RBI's allowed, with 5 home runs.  DJ LeMahieu is 7 for 10 against him but is barely making an impact this season.  Take him out of the picture and Sale has been really good against the Yankees.  Three of those five homers were courtesy of LeMahieu.

Sale allowed two earned runs across seven innings in a 7-3 win over the Rays on Friday. He struck out seven and walked two.

Seven of the last nine in this series dating back to 2020 have stayed Under 7.

Yankees and the Under will be tempting here.

vs. Baltimore Orioles and Luis Gill (Thursday June 20)

(June 19, 2024) - Baltimore is 7-3 in this series over the last ten meetings.  Luis Gill is 9-1 with a 2.03 ERA.  The Yankees will be a -138 favorite with Gill starting on Thursday.

He has permitted just 5 hits in 33 at bats against this Orioles roster (.152).

Cole Irvin is 6-3 with a 3.03 ERA.

Irvin yielded four runs — three earned — in 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Braves.  He had a victory prior to that.

The total on this game is 9.  Seven of the last ten in this series have failed to result in nine or more runs scored.  The Under will be a temptation here, even if the number drops to 8.5.

Nestor Cortes (Thursday June 13)

(June 12, 2024) - Nestor Cortes (3-5, 3.68 ERA) will start for the Yankees Thursday to conclude their series in Kansas City.

He's only faced these Royals 19 times, giving up 7 hits, 6 RBIs and 2 home runs over that time (.368).  Salvador Perez hit both homers and is 4-for-9 against him.

Cortes gave up four runs while working 5 1/3 innings in a loss Saturday to the Dodgers.

Prior to that start, he struggled in a no-decision against the Giants, giving up three runs on seven hits over his 4 1/3 innings of work.

Opposing starter Alex Marsh has allowed the Yankees 8 hits in 24 at bats.

Marsh gave up four runs in five-plus innings while striking out eight Saturday against the Mariners while being credited with a win.

If you are going to bet anything this day, consider the Over.

Power Rating

(June 8, 2024) - "The Yankees' starting rotation took a hit when Clarke Schmidt landed on the injured list with a right lat strain last week. Clarke and his 2.52 ERA will be on the shelf for at least two months. That news puts a dent in the Yankees' starting pitching depth, but they have a reinforcement by the name of Gerrit Cole on the way. Cole was sharp Tuesday in his first rehab start since being diagnosed with nerve irritation and edema in his right elbow in mid-March. He threw 45 pitches over 3⅓ scoreless innings for Double-A Somerset and will make at least another rehab start before returning to the Yankees. His rotation replacement, meanwhile, might start the All-Star Game. Luis Gil is 8-1 with a 1.82 ERA -- the second-best mark in the majors -- across 12 starts." -- Jorge Castillo, ESPN.

The Yankees had scored seven or more runs in four of their last five games heading into Friday night, though that trend got cut back in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Dodgers.

Marcus Stroman (June 11)

(June 8, 2024) Marcus Stroman allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Yankees’ 8-5 victory over the Twins on Thursday.  Expect Stroman to bounce back against the Royals where they should be offered up at a tempting enough price on the road.

Stroman has only faced four of the Royals batters but on 37 occasions, giving up just three RBIs.

The opposing pitcher in this one is Brady Singer, who has not fared particularly well against this Yankees roster.  He's permitted 15 hits in 48 at bats with four RBIs.  Aaron Judge is 3 for 7 against him.  Singer has not allowed a home run over that time however.

Singer has not factored into the decision over his last two starts.

The Yankees are 14-4 against the Royals over their last 18 meetings.

Yankees Strong Bullpen

(June 8, 2024) - The Yankees continue to have one of the better bullpens at the moment.
