The Washington Nationals are winning around 60% of their games but we are timid about betting them most days at this time.

Nationals @ Padres Tuesday June 25

(June 25, 2024) - The top cappers were pretty big on the Nats Tuesday night but San Diego is 6-4 in the last ten meetings.

MacKenzie Gore (6-6, 3.49 ERA) allowed four runs while working five innings in a loss Thursday to the Diamondbacks. Gore struck out 10 Marlins across seven innings in an 8-1 win prior to that.

Gore sits in the top 15 in the MLB in strikeouts with 98 on the year.

Adam Mazur is 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA.  San Diego recalled RHP Adam Mazur from Triple-A El Paso.

Nationals @ Tigers (Wednesday)

(June 12, 2024) - The Nats are among the most backed teams by the top G911 Sports Hub handicappers. The Tigers have faced off against Jake Irvin on 15 occasions but really beat him up badly with 8 hits, 7 RBis and 2 homers.

Irvin threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Nationals’ 2-1 victory over the Braves on Friday.  He earned a victory prior to that and could be due for a poor outing Wednesday.

Reese Olson, starting for the Tigers, allowed eight runs in four innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Friday.  Before that, he allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday.

Nats Power Rankings

(June 12, 2024) - "Trevor Williams, who is 5-0 with a 2.22 ERA, was placed on the IL with a right flexor strain and prospect DJ Herz was called up to take his place in the rotation. Herz, 23, allowed four runs and seven hits in four innings in his MLB debut against the Mets on Tuesday. He was drafted by the Cubs out of high school and came to the Nationals at last year's trade deadline in the Jeimer Candelario trade. He topped out with a 95.6 mph fastball against the Mets and while he held batters to a .176 average in Triple-A, he also walked 29 batters in 36 innings while averaging just four innings a start." -- David Schoenfield, ESPN
