  • One of the best pitchers in baseball starts for Detroit in its Game 2 series against Minnesota.
  • This could be Tarik Skubal's last game pitching for the Tigers as he is a favorite to be traded before next week's trade deadline.
  • Detroit batters are just .200 vs. Joe Ryan and the total here has dropped to 6.5.
  • The Cubs and Royals also start two of their best pitchers Saturday.

Twins @ Tigers

The Minnesota Twins are 4-2 versus the Detroit Tigers following a win on Friday night.

According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, the Orioles and Dodgers are interested in Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal with BetOnline making the Orioles the Even odds favorite to land Skubal.

Skubal had a 10–3 record ahead of this year's All-Star break, owning a 2.37 ERA to go along with a league-best 0.90 WHIP and 132 strikeouts in 110 innings.  He was selected to play in the All-Star Game where he pitched a 1-2-3 second inning.

To be clear, we wouldn't bet against Skubal Saturday and Joe Ryan has allowed 12 runs in his last three starts.

These Twins have faced Skubal on 78 occasions. They do have 16 RBIs off of him with Trevor Larnach 3 for 8 having had two RBI's against Skubal.

Detroit Tigers career statistics vs. Joe Ryan are just .200.

It's easy to understand why the total here would be 6.5.

Cubs @ Royals

Chicago Cubs career statistics vs. Seth Lugo are a mere .167.

Lugo pitched a three-hitter for his first career complete game Sunday in the Royals’ 4-1 win over the White Sox.

Shota Imanaga has had two consecutive strong outings allowing one run, while striking out 16 and walking just two, across 13 innings with Chicago winning both.  None of the games he has started have resulted in more than 8 runs scored.
