  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 3-for-4 against Rangers starter Andrew Heaney.

  • Kodai Senga (shoulder) will make his season debut for the Mets on Friday against the Braves.

Reds vs. Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays are playing better following a sluggish first half of the season.  They are 19-12 over their last 31 games so we're not entirely convinced they are ready for prime time again just yet.

Jorge Castillo of ESPN writes of the Rays:

"The Rays have been hovering around .500 for a month. They are currently 4.5 games out of the third wild-card spot. Gearing up for a playoff push would make sense, but the Rays front office, always carefully calculated in their attempt to extract maximum value, appear to be going in the other direction for the trade deadline with a focus on reloading for 2025. They've already traded starter Aaron Civale and reliever Phil Maton."

October performer Randy Arozarena was just shipped off to Seattle Friday morning.

The Reds are a slightly under .500 team at the moment.

Rangers vs. Blue Jays

The Rangers are 7-1 in the last eight games of this series and, because it is being played in Toronto, you'll be getting some good value on Texas.  The Rangers have won seven of their last nine, but four of those were against the lowly White Sox.  Toronto is 7-12 in their last nineteen games overall.

Andrew Heaney is 4-10 with a decent enough 3.60 ERA for the Rangers.

We would avoid backing Texas here, however, as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 3-for-4 against Heaney with one homer.

And we ain't betting the Blue Jays.

The last five games of this series have seen 9 or more runs scored.  Only one of the Rangers last ten games have resulted in Texas scoring over 4 runs, so let's pass on this game entirely.

Braves vs. Mets

The Mets continue playing well while the Braves, not so much.

Atlanta has won just three of their last ten games and are coming into this one having lost five straight.

New York has won seven of their last ten and own one of the best records in Major League Baseball dating back to the beginning of June.

The series is split in terms of wins and losses.

Kodai Senga (shoulder) will make his season debut for the Mets on Friday against the Braves.

Mets career statistics vs. Charlie Morton are just .236, making for a less attractive game to bet on.
