We do hope this daily starting pitcher report will provide a valuable resource to bettors.  Here Gambling911.com will examine all the marquee pitchers and their "due" factor.  For example, an ace pitcher will rarely have two bad starts in a row.  There are other factors that come into play such as the opposing team and its batters performance of late along with the bullpen strength both for the team the ace pitches for and the opposing team.  Be sure to bookmark this page and check back frequently for updates before you make your MLB picks.

Zack Wheeler (Phillies 6-3, 2.32 ERA)

Zack Wheeler blanked the Giants for six innings, allowing just two hits, in a no-decision Tuesday.  It was Wheeler’s ninth quality start in 12 tries, and he lowered his ERA to 2.32.  He picked up the win in his previous start.

In 84 at bats, the Milwaukee Brewers have had a tough time against Wheeler, hitting 19 of 84 at bats, 12 RBIs and just two home runs.

Willy Adams has had success against Wheeler, going .400 (4-for-10 with 5 RBI's and one of those homers).

Bryse Wilson was starting for the Brewers.

The price was too high at -215.

Shota Imanaga 5-1 (ERA)

Imanaga will face off against the White Sox at home here where unfortunately he'll likely be priced over -180 coming off a start in which he gave up 7 runs, including a homer, by the 4th innings.

The White Sox opposing pitcher was not yet known.

Logan Gilbert 3-3 (3.29 ERA)

Mariners Gilbert (3-3) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings.

He was coming off of three straight quality starts.

Gilbert will face Oakland on Wednesday.  In 44 at bats against the A's, he's only allowed four hits, two home runs and two RBIs (.091).

Seattle has owned the Athletics of late, winning 14 of 16 meetings.

Gavin Stone 4-2 (3.60 ERA) WIN/WIN

Gavin Stone lost to the Diamondbacks after allowing four runs in six innings on Tuesday.

Stone came up a little short of delivering a fifth straight quality start and took his first loss since April 7. He gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out five in falling to 4-2 with a 3.60 ERA.

Jose Quintana has only allowed three homers in 114 at bats by this current Dodgers roster.  That goes along with 10 RBIs.

Quintana yielded three runs in six innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Guardians his last start.  He allowed four hits and two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings and picked up a no-decision in the Mets’ 6-5 victory over the Phillies before that.  We expect him to pitch well in this game but the Mets relievers are questionable.

Shota Imanaga 5-0 (0.84 ERA) LOSS

We can argue that Shota Imanaga is due for a loss but he is coming off a game in which he tossed seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts but still did not factor into the decision against the Pirates on Saturday.  That was also the case his prior start.  So, instead, we are looking at a situation where he's more due for a win.

His Cubs sit right at the .500 mark.  They'll be taking on the Milwaukee Brewers, who are 31-22.  These teams have mostly split wins and losses over their last ten meetings.  Chicago was on a five-game losing streak coming into Tuesday night's game however.

Bryse Wilson starts for Milwaukee.  He's faced these Cubs on 60 occasions, giving up just one home run. Wilson allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings in a bulk role Friday and picked up a win against the Red Sox.   Wilson took over with two outs in the first after Jared Koenig retired two of four batters, got out of the jam and then stayed in through the end of the sixth.  Wilson is yet to win any of his six starts.

Only one of the last five games Wilson has pitched in have gone Over 7 runs.  And seven of the last ten games in this series have resulted in no more than 7 runs.

Chicago has scored three or fewer runs in seven of their last ten games.  Milwaukee has fared much better but scored 4 or fewer in half of their last ten games.

The total for this game was set at 7.5, thus making the Under an attractive play perhaps.

Zac Gallen(5-4, 3.12 ERA) Win

The Mets have just 18 hits in 80 at bats against Gallen with two homers and 8 RBIs.  Gallen is coming off two losses.

He went seven innings while allowing three runs Friday against the Marlins and picking up the loss.

Christian Scott starts for the Mets.

New York is 8-2 against Arizona but the Diamondbacks are still a good play here.

Zac Gallen was removed from Thursday’s start against the Mets with a right hamstring strain.

Carlos Rodon (6-2, 2.95 ERA) WIN

Coming off four straight wins, Rodon might be due for a bad outing here.  We won't dare bet against him (we don't think, more on that in a moment) but the Over 8.5 could be something to consider.  Though the sampling is small, this Angels roster has hit 8 of 20 against Rodon with two home runs.

Patrick Sandoval, on the other hand, has pitched well against these Yankees. He's allowed just 8 hits in 52 at bats.

Sandoval allowed eight runs in just 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Guardians on Friday. Before that rough outing, he allowed just a run over six innings while not factoring into the decision Saturday against the Rangers.

The Angels are 7-3 against the Yankees.

Could be a play on LA after all, but more likely NO.  The Over 8.5 has only happened three times in the last ten games of this season so maybe scratch that idea.

Tanner Houck 4-5 (1.90 ERA) Win/Win

Tanner Houck struck out seven and walked none in his latest excellent outing. Alas, he didn’t get the victory, as the Red Sox only scored their second run in the bottom of the eighth.

He now has nine quality starts in eleven tries.

The Tigers roster has had 19 at bats against Houck with just two hits (.105).

Reese Olson is 1-5 but with a 1.92 ERA for Detroit.  His first win came with his last start.  Olson allowed one run -- zero earned -- with four strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Boston is 9-1 in this series.

This is certainly a good spot for Houck and the Red Sox.

Dylan Cease 5-4 (3.29 ERA) Loss/Team Wins

Dylan Cease allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Yankees on Saturday.  He has not had a win in his last three starts and is certainly due here in a game against the Royals.

This game could be impacted by weather, however, it was looking more and more likely there will be nothing more than a delayed start if that.

Michael Wacha was starting for KC.  He pitched six-plus innings on Sunday against the Rays. He struck out seven, walked one, and allowed two earned runs.  Despite the solid effort, Wacha would ultimately take the loss in this one.

San Diego failed to score more than two runs in six of their last ten games and they face Wacha.

The Royals have scored a lot of runs of late so tough to take the Under here.

Saturday June 1, 2024

Ranger Suárez (Phillies: 9-1, 1.75 ERA)

Ranger Suárez allowed five runs (four earned) on three hits in six innings in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.  Suárez struck out nine but also walked four and threw just 42 percent of pitches in the strike zone. He did rack up an impressive 39 percent whiff rate.

Starting against the Cardinals at home on Saturday, this line should be set below -180 as Sonny Gray is set to start for St. Louis.

Gray will come into this one with three straight victories, making Philadelphia an even more enticing play - at least on paper - as Suárez will look to redeem himself.

The under could prove attractive here as well being that Gray has not allowed a home run to be hit by Philly batters in 111 appearances and he's only permitted 6 RBIs.  This would be a more appealing play if Gray was coming off a loss or no-decision.  Look for the total to be 6 to 6.5.

Sunday June 2, 2024

Taijuan Walker 3-1 (5.51 ERA) No Decision/Loss

Taijuan Walker allowed six runs (five earned) in six innings and took the loss against the Giants on Monday.  Walker allowed nine hits, two walks and struck out four. He completed six innings for the fourth time in six starts this year, but the five earned runs allowed increased his ERA to 5.51.   Coming into this game, Walker has not won any of his last three starts and, in theory at least, should be at his extreme best in this start at home against Arizona.

Of course there is going to be a price to pay as the Cardinals are just 25-27 on the season thus far.  The good news is we really haven't seen the Cardinals price longer than +180 this season outside of the first three road appearances facing the LA Dodgers, so it is possible this one will come under -180 for Philly.

Walker has only allowed two home runs in 77 appearances against this current Cards roster.
