Will the Pirates-Tigers Game Be Suspended, Postponed May 28?

Sportsbook operators and PPH businesses alike will be keeping a close eye out on the Pirates-Tigers game Tuesday with rain possible throughout the evening hours.  Gambling911.com is giving this one a 60% chance of being postponed.  Update: This game has been postponed.

Assuming this one gets off, we have Skubal coming off his last start in which he allowed four runs over five innings in a loss to the Royals.  One would expect him to rebound nicely here.

Jones pitched well in a tough-luck no-decision on Wednesday, limiting the Giants to three runs on six hits over his six innings of work. 

The betting line has the Tigers -152, Pirates +127; over/under is 7 runs.

TOP PERFORMERS: Riley Greene is second on the Tigers with 19 extra base hits (nine doubles, a triple and nine home runs). Kerry Carpenter is 9-for-27 with two doubles, two triples, three home runs and 11 RBI over the past 10 games.

Connor Joe has a .280 batting average to lead the Pirates, and has 12 doubles and six home runs. Bryan Reynolds is 14-for-45 with two home runs and nine RBI over the last 10 games.

Detroit is 6-4 in the last ten games of this series.

Know the Rules When Games Are Suspended, Postponed

The Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals suspended their game Tuesday night after a rainstorm rolled over Busch Stadium ahead of the bottom of the sixth inning. They plan to resume the contest, which was tied 1-1 when the grounds crew rolled out the tarp, at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday and play their series finale 30 minutes after.

Sportsbooks have different rules on suspended games just like they do for postponements. Most books may keep the bet active if the game is going to be resumed within 24 to 36 hours.

With DraftKings, for example, Bets on games suspended after they have started will have action as long as the game is resumed within 36 hours of the original start time.
