2010 NCAA Bracket Odds Wake Forest vs. Texas

We are nearing the first game of this year's March Madness and 2010 NCAA bracket odds for Wake Forest vs. Texas had the Longhorns listed as a -5 favorite at SBG Global (see odds here).  The line has moved up an entire point since opening at -4.  70 percent of the public backing was for Texas.

Wake Forest lost 5 of its last 6 games down the stretch.  This included a 21-point blowout loss in the ACC Tournament to Miami.

"As such most people were not including Wake Forest among their 2010 NCAA Brackets we suppose," said Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  "Nor are they betting this team against the spread."

But it should be noted that the Deacs held opponents to just 37.9-percent shooting. Wake was seventh nationally and second in the conference in limiting opponents to just a 28.3-percent success rate in 3-point shooting.  This has to count for something.

Texas also stumbled during the final part of the season. The same team that began the season with 17 consecutive victories and rose to No. 1 in the nation less than two months ago, lost to in-state Baylor.

`It's real hard," Texas big man Dexter Pittman said about coming up short once again to Baylor. ``I'm going to have to deal with it the rest of my life."

The Longhorns have been unable to consistently score down the stretch.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
