2011 NCAA Odds

2011 NCAA odds were available for the Saturday March 19 games as we get closer to determining the Sweet 16.  Most of the weekend’s games have been determined with odds available at BetUS.com here.

In Tampa, Florida we have Kentucky as a -3.5 favorite vs. West Virginia.  Kentucky nearly got knocked out of the first round on Thursday, beating Princeton by a mere two points in the final seconds.  Gambling911.com has determined that Kentucky should be no more than a 2 point favorite in this game.  Not surprisingly, around 60 percent of the betting public agrees with that sentiment, betting West Virginia on the spread.

Butler looks to upset Pittsburgh in Washington, DC as the +7.5 underdog.  Spread action on this game was balanced.  The line on this game should be -9 so we are seeing an underlay here as the betting public believes Butler is a much better team than odds calculations and ratings formulas suggest.

Gonzaga is a -2 favorite vs. BYUand we could see the line go up as 85 percent of those betting the spread were backing the Zags.  BYU should be a -6 point favorite here but one of their key players is out due to an NCAA policy violation.  Still, the line is terribly skewed.

Wisconsin was a -3 favorite vs. Kansas State.  Wisconsin was getting around 70 percent of the spread action.  The line on this game is correct as determined by Gambling911.com.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
