2012 Cheltenham Day Four: Gold Cup Day Betting Odds

2012 Cheltenham Day Four Gold Cup Day betting odds were available at 888Sport.com here

125x125 £

These races included the JCB Triumph Hurdle, Vincent O’Brien county Handicap Hurdle, Albert Bartlett Novices, Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase, Fox Hunter Chase Challenge Cup, Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle and the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase Challenge.

Odds for the Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase had Long Run the 2/1 favorite and Kauto Star close behind at 3/1 odds.  The favorite was getting 25 percent of the betting action while Kauto Star was getting 18 percent.  Synchronised at 14/1 odds was getting the next greatest action at just over 13 percent.

Sporting Life wrote of Kauto Star:

Kauto Star hasn't got as many miles on the clock as most 12-year-olds and has beaten LONG RUN twice this season. But it's been a race against time to get the former champion to The Festival after a schooling fall a couple of weeks ago and there's no question that this 3m2f trip stretches his stamina to the absolute limit. Nicky Henderson's eight-year-old left Kauto Star toiling in his wake here 12 months ago, despite making several serious errors, and this has been his target all season. With the yard in fantastic form all week, it's difficult to see the reigning champion being overturned today as long as he treats the fences with respect.

Pay attention to Synchronised here though.  Sporting Life notes that he has won three hurdle races and five chases from 2m 3f to 4m 1f on ground varying from good to heavy. A winner at 8-1 in a Grade 1 chase in the Group 1 Lexus Chase at Leopardstown over 3m (good) on his latest outing in December last year, beating Rubi Light by 9l.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
