Charlotte is hoping for an Anthony Davis to turn this franchise around.  The Bobcats are coming off a horrendous 7-59 season.

Before betting on the Bobcats to get the 2012 NBA Draft lottery, you might want to consider this unfortunate trend first.

Not since 2004, when the Orlando Magic drafted Dwight Howard, has the team with the worst record won the lottery, notes Brian Mahoney of the Associated Press.

Never-the-less, Charlotte does have the best odds of earning the number one pick at next month’s Draft.

The NBA Draft Lottery is an annual event in which the teams who had missed the Playoffs in the previous season, or teams who hold the draft rights of another team that missed the Playoffs in the previous season, participate in a lottery process to determine the Draft order.  The Lottery will take place this evening (Wednesday May 30, 2012).
