NBA Finals Game 2

All about LeBron for the Cavaliers

The NBA Finals have been described as LeBron James against the Warriors. The Cavaliers have a hobbled Kyrie Irving and they are without Kevin Love so it is all about LeBron in this series against Golden State. LeBron won NBA titles while with the Miami Heat but he never won one with Cleveland and the Cavaliers have never won an NBA title. The Cavaliers were not a great road team during the regular season but they have played well on the road in the playoffs. To win this series they will need to win at least once on the road against the Warriors who were nearly unbeatable at home. The Cavaliers are averaging 103 points per game and allowing just under 99 per contest. They have gone under in five of their last six road playoff games.

History on the Side of Golden State

Did you know that the Warriors are the 10th team in NBA history to win at least 67 games in the regular season? Seven of the previous nine teams won the NBA title. The Warriors don’t have any players who have played in the NBA Finals previously and the only team to win a title without previous NBA Finals experience was the 1990-91 Chicago Bulls. The Warriors are the top scoring team in the NBA as they average 110 points per game, led by Stephen Curry who is the league’s MVP. They allow just under 100 points per contest.

Game Notes

The Warriors have been virtually unbeatable at home this season as they were 39-2 in the regular season and entering the NBA Finals they were 46-3 including playoff results. Cleveland has been a better road team in the playoffs than they were during the regular season. They are 5-2 against the NBA betting odds in their last 7 road games. The Warriors are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games.

Blackhawks Steal Game 1
Chicago probably should have lost Game 1 but Teuvo Teravainen scored late to tie the game at 1-1 and moments later it was Antoine Vermette scoring the game winner. Corey Crawford made 22 saves and Chicago made a big statement with the Game 1 win. "It's pretty amazing," Teravainen said. "I know we have a great team. We have a lot of experience, but myself, I'm a young guy here, so I try to bring some energy. Tampa Bay is a really great team. It's a fast game out there. You have to be ready."
Lightning Play Tentative
Tampa Bay decided to play a defensive style of game and for two and a half periods it worked but in a span of two minutes they gave up two goals and lost. “We really didn't give them much the entire game," Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said. "Could we have made a few more poised plays? I guess we could have. But we had chances to put them away, and that was letting them hang around." If Tampa is to win this series they will have to open things up more and start playing to win and not to lose.
Game Notes
History is now on the side of the Blackhawks as the winner of Game 1 has won the Stanley Cup in 58 of the past 75 finals. The Blackhawks are 5-2 in their last 7 road games. The Lightning are 37-15 in their last 52 home games. The Over is 4-1 in the Blackhawks last 5 overall. The Over is 6-2-3 in the Blackhawks last 11 road games. The Over is 4-1-1 in the Lightning last 6 home games. The Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in this series.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
