The 2016 NBA Playoffs Begin with Beat Downs: Latest Odds to Win

The NBA Playoffs official began over the past weekend, and except for the Indiana Pacers beating the Toronto Raptors on the road, every favorite and home team won their first game. In addition, 5 of the 8 games were not even worth watching, considering the home team favorite won by more than 20 points.

Each of the top four teams in the Western Conference cruised to an easy victory in their first game of the opening round. Sure, it was only the first game, but it appears that these first four series in the Western Conference are going to lack excitemen,t with most of them probably only going 4 or 5 games. The Western Conference is clearly the better Conference of the two, and the top 4 teams are clearly superior to the bottom four teams. The good news for NBA gambling fans is that the second round should be ultra competitive with the four best teams squaring off.

It may be a little presumptions to assume that the Warriors, Spurs, Thunder and Clippers will each make it to the second round, but it would be shame if they didn't, because there is no question that they are the four best teams in the West. If these four teams do end up winning their first round match-ups it will lead to a very intriguing, and entertaining second round matchup that will showcase the Golden State Warriors against the LA Clippers, and the San Antonio Spurs against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

On the Eastern Conference side, the games have been much closer, and the teams all appear to be more evenly matched. The Pacers have the lone upset at the moment, and could give the Raptors a run for their money, since the Pacers have a lot of positive playoff experience, whereas the Raptors have not done very well in recent playoff appearances. The other close series should be the Boston Celtics against the Atlanta Hawks, who played the closet and most entertaining game so far, with the Hawks winning by just 1 point. This series could easily go 6 or 7 games, and prove to be one of the more watchable series of the first round. The other two series had the Cavs and the Heat winning, and both teams should be able to cruise into the second round.
