Gambling911.com bookmaking expert Tony Caliente looks at the Purdue vs. Michigan State game Saturday, what the line is versus what the line should be.

This should be a great game with both teams suffering a mere three losses each this season. MSU is ranked number 4 in the nation with Purdue ranked number 3. The line was set at -3 in favor of the Spartans.

During their second game this season, the Spartans were ranked No. 2 and lost to then-No. 1 Duke. When they were ranked No. 3 in late November, they blew out then-No. 5 Notre Dame.

"That doesn't happen very often," coach Tom Izzo said. "This is our third top five game of the year, us versus Duke, us versus Notre Dame and now us versus Purdue. When you look at it that way, it's a privilege for (his team) and I told them that. That's the privilege and you guys have got to respond to it."

While Michigan State has big-game experience, the Boilermakers have more veteran players. The Spartans start four sophomores and a freshman. Purdue starts four seniors and a sophomore.

"Sooner or later, the freshmen and sophomores have got to become juniors and seniors," Izzo said.

The College Basketball Betting Power Ratings indicate a line of MSU -2 so this one appears shaded by a point.  I expect a Purdue cover here.  The line hasn't moved off of -3.

I should note that Purdue has won three of the last four games in this series.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
