Butler vs. Syracuse Sweet 16 betting odds opened at Syracuse -7 at Bookmaker.com.  This game goes off March 25.  Bookmaker.com opened the line on this game Sunday afternoon (see website here)

Syracuse advanced to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances for the first time since 2003-04 behind 31 points by Wesley Johnson. The total was a career high for Johnson and the first time an Orange player put up 30-plus points in an NCAA tournament game since Gerry McNamara scored 43 against BYU in 2004.

The 22-point margin of victory was the third-largest by Syracuse in the tournament since 1990.

The Orange were unranked before the season and made it to No. 1 for the final week before losing to Georgetown in the Big East tournament.

Number 5-seeded Butler just managed to squeak by red hot Murray State on Saturday and advances into the Sweet 16 for the second time in four years and third time in school history. They also extended the nation's longest winning streak to 22 games.

"I think we just wanted it," said Butler's Gordon Hayward, who persevered through a 4-of-13 shooting performance. "I'm sure they wanted it badly, too, but we all just dug in. We did whatever we could to get the job done."
