Charlotte Hornets Daily Fantasy Value, Betting Report – February 19

The Charlotte Hornets daily fantasy value and betting report as we enter into the second half of the 2015 NBA season is examined by Gambling911.com, the official sponsor of the first ever Daily Fantasy Sports Expo in Miami Beach.  This is just one of the many new additions to the Gambling911.com site to compliment the second half of the season that we hope will make you a winner whether you’re betting on games or playing daily fantasy NBA.

When it comes to the Hornets your best bet is to focus on the UNDER.  Eight of their last ten games have gone UNDER the total.  No surprise here: they play at the eighth-slowest pace and have held their opponents to the third-fewest points per game.

The Hornets are eight games under the .500 mark prior to the break.  They do have a few favorable matches ahead, albeit most are on the road.

Oklahoma City has played poor defense while Boston allows the 4th most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season and Orlando is giving up the 2nd more fantasy points to both opposing centers and point guards.  The Magic have not fared well against power forwards either.

Charlotte faces Oklahoma City, a team they lost to by 23 points, before heading on the road to Dallas, Chicago, Boston and Orlando.

Here are your projected salaries and target fantasy points to make value (vary between sites):

Gerald Henderson (SG) $5.1K – target 25 fantasy points

Jeffery Taylor (SF) $3K – target 18 fantasy points

Brian Roberts (PG) $4.6K – target 25 fantasy points

C. Zeller (SF) $4.8K – target 25 fantasy points

Al Jefferson (C) $7.7K – target 38 fantasy points

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (SF) – Questionable due to injury

Kemba Walker - OUT

Al Jefferson – Jefferson fell just short of value against Detroit his last game despite the Pistons giving up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing centers the season.  He had been averaging around 38 fantasy points his previous six matchups.

Boston ranks 21st against centers this season while Orlando gives up the 2nd most points to centers.  Earlier in the season, the last time he played against Orlando, Jefferson scored just shy of 40 fantasy points.  His price is a little too high for our taste.  Jefferson had a very tough time against Oklahoma City the last time he faced them.  The same holds true for Dallas.

If it’s a situation where you absolutely must go with Al Jefferson when Charlotte meets either Boston or Orlando, he is a decent option, but only a last resort in our opinion.

Oklahoma City – Hold

Dallas – Hold

Chicago – Hold

Boston – Neutral/Go

Orlando – Neutral/Go

Gerald Henderson With Kemba Walker out a little longer, much of the offense will be running through both Jefferson and Henderson.  The difference is that Henderson comes at a much more affordable price. He only needs roughly 25 fantasy points at this juncture in time. He has averaged over 30 fantasy points in his last five games.

Henderson was abysmal vs. OKC the last time he faced that team.  He did make value against Dallas with Walker in the lineup.  He flirted with around 30 fantasy points versus Boston, and that was with Walker scoring 33, so we fully expect Henderson to have a banner day against the Celtics, especially if Williams remains out of commission.

Henderson has had a rough time against Orlando in recent games for whatever the reason.

Oklahoma City – Hold

Dallas – Neutral

Chicago – Hold

Boston – Strong Go

Orlando – Hold

Brian Roberts – He was averaging around 22 fantasy points over a seven game stretch with Kemba Walker out.  That’s right around value.  Orlando allows the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing point guards.  Provided Walker is still out, Roberts would be a GO to have on your roster against the Magic.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
