The reports that NBA player Chris Paul is leaving the New Orleans Hornets to join up with another big name superstar somewhere else have the rumor mills on fire and online bookmakers are looking to capitalize as well.

BetUS.com released odds on which team Chris Paul will be joining, with the New York Knicks a hot 5/9 favorite.

“The interest here is certainly not on the scale of a Lebron James move but it is certainly something that is being discussed heading into the early part of this week,” observed Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

Odds on Lebron landing in Miami paid 2/1 right up until the day prior to his televised announcement.

The Hornets themselves released a statement suggesting that Chris Paul will remain with the team, however, that has yet to be confirmed.  In fact, the oddsmakers at BetUS.com do not even offer New Orleans as an option.  Paul was quoted in the statement:

"The meeting went well," Paul said in the statement. "It was great to get an opportunity to sit down with Coach Williams, President Weber and our new General Manager Dell Demps. I expressed my desire to win and I like what they said about the direction that they want to take the team. I have been a Hornet my entire career and I hope to represent the city of New Orleans and state of Louisiana for many years to come."

But Paul is said to still be seeking a way out of New Orleans.

Analysts at BetUS.com posted the following odds on the future of Chris Paul:

Orlando Magic

6/5
