Connecticut Odds to Win 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship

Connecticut odds to win the 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship were listed at 12/1 at Sportsbook.com as of Tuesday evening.  U Conn’s odds of winning the Championship coming into the Tournament were more than double that number at 25/1.  The Huskies were getting the most wagering volume of any other Sweet 16 team at Sportsbook.com as of Tuesday night.

UConn dashed Cincinnati’s hopes of a Sweet 16 appearance with a 69-58 win this past weekend.

"Watching all the games, all the Big East teams were getting knocked off one by one. It did worry me a little bit," said UConn center  Alex Oriakhi, who had 11 rebounds as part of the Huskies' 35-25 advantage on the boards. "But I'm happy we got to the Sweet 16 and hopefully we'll get more wins."

Kemba Walker scored 33 points for the Huskies, who have made their 13th Sweet 16 since seeding began.

UConn has a number of strengths that can take them to the Final Four, including being able to rebound, defend and run the ball without tiring out.

Veteran Coach Jim Calhoun also gives Connecticut quite the edge.

Walker could very well be the best player in the country right now while Oriakhi has improved his play dramatically in recent weeks.
