At SBG Global, the odds of Duke, Ohio State and Kansas winning the 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship were each between 4/1 and +450 for a payout potential of $40 to $45 on every $10 bet or $400 to $450 on every $100 bet heading into the tournament.  SBG Global was one of the few online sportsbooks still offering 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship futures during the afternoon of Selection Sunday.

Duke came into Sunday’s ACC Tournament title game against North Carolina with a record of 29-4 after trouncing Virginia Tech on Saturday.  Nolan Smith scored 27 points for the 77-63 victory.

Duke was making its 30th appearance in the ACC title game, tied with North Carolina for the most all-time.  At press time, Duke held onto a double-digit lead at the top of the 2nd half.

Ohio State, meanwhile, was set to take on Penn State in the final game before the tournament selection process begins.  The Ohio State-Penn State game goes off at 3:30 pm ET.

The top-ranked Buckeyes were hoping to wrap things up with a Big Ten title on Sunday against a team that will enjoy their first NCAA berth in a decade.

Coach Thad Matta’s team is expected to have a Number 1 seed locked up in the NCAA Tournament with Kansas the only other team likely to have a top overall slot.

"We're going to prepare like it's the next game on the schedule because it is and the thing that I love about this team, that's sort of how they want it," Matta said of the game against Penn State. "It's another opportunity to play a game. That's how I've seen their minds work all year.”

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
