First Four Betting Odds – 2012

First Four betting odds for 2012 were available from Bookmaker.eu here.

Mississippi Valley State was taking on Western Kentucky as the +4 underdog while Iona was taking on BYU as a +2 underdog.

The winner of the BYU-Iona contest will face No. 3 Marquette on Thursday in Louisville in the East Region.

Last year, BYU managed to advance to the Sweet 16 with star point guard Jimmer Fredette, who is no longer with the team.  Instead, they have 6-9 junior forward Brandon Davies, who was not able to play in last year’s March Madness due to an honor code violation.

This will be BYU’s school-record sixth straight NCAA tourney appearance, 27th overall and ninth in the last 12 years.

Other First Four betting odds including Lamar as a -3.5 favourite against Vermont while South Florida was making its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance as a +3 underdog against California.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
