Heat–Celtics Game

The much-anticipated Heat-Celtics game to open the 2010/2011 NBA season had even odds at BetED.com Tuesday.  Overnight spread action had 60 percent of the bets going Miami’s way, Gambling911.com observed.

Coming into this game, the Boston Celtics were favored to win UNDER 54.5 regular season games.  There were currently no odds on the Heat regular season wins.

This will mark the first regular season game featuring NBA marquee player Lebron James in a Heat uniform.  Miami is being viewed as a “super team” of sorts as James will play along side Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

But make no mistake about it, this is Lebron’s team.

"Once LeBron took his talents to South Beach, I think everyone got excited," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said.

The Celtics will also feature plenty of talent this season with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and newly signed Shaquille O'Neal.

"I think the NBA did an unbelievable job of picking a great first game," Wade said.

It’s one that will certainly receive plenty of betting action from the get go.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
