Jazz vs. Kings Betting Line – December 8
Carrie Stroup here with your Jazz vs. Kings betting line for December 8. Sacramento -2.0, Total: 205
UTAH JAZZ (9-9) at SACRAMENTO KINGS (7-15)
The Kings will be looking to end their recent struggles when they host the Jazz on Tuesday.
Utah is coming off of a 122-119 home victory over the Pacers on Saturday and the team has now won three of its past five games SU and four of its past five ATS. The Jazz have been hot offensively recently, averaging 104.4 PPG over the past five games. Their last three contests have gone Over the total as well.
Meanwhile, the Kings have lost three straight games and five of their past six. They have covered in just two of the past four and have shot under 40% from the field in three of their past five contests. This team will need to shoot the ball better if it is going to keep up with the Jazz.
Over the past three seasons, Utah has gotten the best of this series with a 5-2 SU record. The teams have, however, split wins ATS with three apiece and also pushed in their most recent meeting. The Jazz enter this game 15-4 ATS after allowing 105 points or more over the past two seasons. They are also up against a Kings team that is 2-14 ATS in December games over the past two seasons.
C Rudy Gobert (Knee) is out indefinitely for Utah and PG Dante Exum (Knee) is out for the season for the team. The Kings will only be without C Willie Cauley-Stein (Finger), who is out for the next couple of weeks.
The Jazz are coming off of a big win over the Pacers and SF Gordon Hayward (18.6 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.1 APG, 1.1 SPG) is really starting to heat up for Utah. Over the past five games, Hayward is averaging 24.0 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.4 APG and 1.8 SPG. He should be able to keep scoring at a high rate against a Kings team that is prone to defensive breakdowns.
PF Derrick Favors (17.5 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 1.9 SPG, 1.2 BPG) is coming off one of the best games of his career. Favors had 35 points, 13 rebounds and a block in 44 minutes of action against Indiana and will need to have a big game against Sacramento on Tuesday. He will see a lot of time matched up with DeMarcus Cousins and if he can hold his own then the Jazz will have a very good shot at winning.
If the Kings are going to end their losing streak then C DeMarcus Cousins (25.2 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 1.4 BPG) is going to need to start playing better. Cousins is just 13-for-53 from the field over the past three games and he has not scored more than 16 points in any of those contests. This team needs Cousins to be a more consistent offensive threat and it will continue to struggle if the big man isn’t scoring around 25 on a nightly basis.
PG Rajon Rondo (12.3 PPG, 10.9 APG, 6.8 RPG, 1.9 SPG) continues to play well for the Kings this season. Over the past two games, Rondo has dished out 14.5 APG to go along with 10.0 PPG. He will need to have a big performance against a Utah team that is very weak at the point guard position.
