Kansas Jayhawks: Bookie Beat Down or Bettor Beware?

With a record of 21-3 Straight Up, one would have to imagine bookies catering to the vast Kansas Jayhawks fan base will be squirming right now and in desperate need of a contract Pay Per Head service to manage their player base.   Better think again.

Current Status: Bettor Beware

Despite that nearly outstanding 21-3 Straight Up record, Kansas is just 7-14-1 Against The Spread thus far this season.  That means most gamblers who have routinely backed the Jayhawks have been getting slaughtered.

Most recently, they have only covered the spread in three of their last ten games while losing only two games over that period Straight Up.

The situation does not bode well for bettors over the next five games as Kansas has failed to cover the spread in all but one of those teams in their most recent meetings.  They did cover the spread against Texas Tech, a team they play on Saturday (February 11).

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
