The Los Angeles Lakers have won the 2009 NBA Championship.  It appeared the game was already done by the end of the third quarter where the Lakers had led the Orlando Magic by double digits throughout much of the last three quarters.

The Lakers had been made the early favorites at the start of the season to win the 2009 NBA Championship at online sportsbooks like Super Book

For the Lakers this was their 15th NBA championship.

Kobe Bryant, seeking his fourth title but first without Shaquille O'Neal, scored 15 points in the half. Trevor Ariza had 11 of his 12 in the second quarter.  He was named MVP.

The Lakers surged into the lead with a 16-0 run to open a 12-point lead, thrilling a large contingent of their fans wearing purple and gold inside Amway Arena.

Los Angeles was 5 of 8 from 3-point range in the half and made three 3s during their big run. Orlando missed eight of its nine 3s.

The Lakers celebrated their victory in Orlando Sunday night.

"The 2009 NBA Finals enjoyed significant interest from gamblers, more so than in recent championship games," said Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com.

It was not immediately known how much was bet on the 2009 finals.
