Lebron James Knicks

The New York City newspapers have been licking their chops at the thought of NBA superstar Lebron James landing in their city with the Knicks.

By Thursday morning it looked as if they had conceded.

"Miami Heat Have the Edge," read the headline on the New York Post front page.

Yes, this is big news.  Just think, yesterday there were reports that terrorists had plotted to blow up the New York subways, yet it is King James who tops the headlines in the Big Apple.

It's down to the Heat, Cavaliers and Knicks, with misdirections spewing all day. The ESPN show begins at 9 p.m., and he's expected to reveal his choice about 10 minutes into the program.  Sportsbetting.com had made the Miami Heat a -250 favorite by Thursday morning while the Knicks were sitting at even odds.

The Knicks became so frustrated by the lack of feedback they were getting from the James camp, the club nearly dispatched coach Mike D'Antoni to Akron, a source told the Post.

With James making his announcement from the New York City area, speculation reached fever pitch that he would be signing with the Knicks.  New York became a -250 favorite yesterday evening before settling in at even.  The Cleveland Cavaliers remain -250 co-favorites with the Miami Heat at press time Thursday afternoon.

"LeBron is going to make his own decision and we will all be in front of our televisions [tonight] to find out," Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade said.

Bosh was reluctant to give James any more encouragement.

"I am going to let him do his thing," New Miami Heat player Chris Bosh said. "I am not going to mess with him. He's got enough people in his ear."

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
