March Madness 2010 Odds:

When it comes to March Madness 2010 odds, the most action thus far seems to be going Notre Dame's way.

The Fighting Irish had odds set at -2 vs. Old Dominion at Hollywood Sports Book heading into Tuesday morning.  Nearly 95 percent of the betting action was on Notre Dame in this game.

Notre Dame had won six straight before Friday's loss against West Virgina and sports bettors are counting on this team to get back to their winning ways.

Notre Dame averaged 59 points in its two Big East tournament wins, almost 18 points lower than its season average. The Fighting Irish struggled against the Mountaineers' 1-3-1 zone, finishing at 34.1 percent (15 of 44).

"We had some success in the past when we had a 1-3-1 lineup," Huggins said. "We can't play that with every lineup, and the lineup we played at that time we played 1-3-1 pretty well. And I thought it would be effective."

There is a reason why March Madness 2010 odds had Notre Dame as such a small favorite in the first round of the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament.  Old Dominion has its strengths and Fox Sports points them out:

Old Dominion finished the regular season fifth in the NCAA in scoring defense (allowing 56.9 points per game) and fifth in rebounding margin (plus-7.9). The Monarchs' inside players know how to score, and ODU has a balanced offense. Though Lee is the only Monarch averaging double figures, five others averaged more than seven points per game.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
