March Madness 2011 Betting

The March Madness 2011 betting season begins in earnest Sunday evening here at Gambling911.com at the conclusion of the Selection Sunday telecast.  It is during this broadcast that we learn which of the NCAA teams will make it into the 68-team tournament (The NCAA Men's Division Basketball Championship).

“Billons of dollars will be wagered on over these next few weeks both online and in Las Vegas,” noted Payton O’Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.

To be more precise:  $2.5 billion will be wagered, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigations.  However, the FBI typically does not follow online transactions and it’s not as if the corner bookies are supplying the Bureau with this type of information.

As with most years, the first online sportsbook to release lines on each of the March Madness games should be Bookmaker.com.

“Other books will have lines soon after overnight while a number will release lines first thing Monday morning, mostly the recreational shops,” O’Brien said.

There will be great anticipation throughout the day on Sunday.  But while we wait, the final games will also be played out.

Here are all odds for the remaining Conference games courtesy of Bookmaker.com.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
