Are the Golden State Warriors a lock to win the 2016-2017 NBA Championship?  According to the odds makers, they are.

Why else set the odds on Golden State at -125? Online bookies need more information than that before setting a low max betting limit on the Warriors.

See below for some info on Golden State’s chances of winning the title.

Why Golden State Can Win the NBA Championship at -125

Kevin Durant – Durant is one of the greatest scorers in NBA History.

By signing Durant, the Warriors added a great scorer to a team with 2-time reigning MVP Seth Curry, the terrific guard Kyle Thompson, and the fantastic Draymond Green.

During the NBA Preseason, Golden State has averaged 114.9 points per game, a 48.7% field goal percentage, and a 41.6% field goal percentage from three.

The offense is stacked. A deep bench – If pay per head agents are considering setting a max betting limit on the Warriors at -125, this should be the real reason why.

The bench is stacked.

Forget about playing Curry, Durant, Thompson and Green 40 minutes throughout the playoffs after an 82 game season.

No player is suited to play 40 minutes in every game during the playoffs. A deep bench is huge.

Reasons to Hate Golden State at -125

Uh…Kevin Durant – Durant prefers to take jump shots beyond the three-point line. For a power forward, he’s not exactly the best option on the blocks.

Kevin Durant is a hall of fame player, no doubt, but he doesn’t go to the basket enough, or, at least, he hasn’t in recent years.

Do the Warriors really need another great three-point shooter?

Lack of a defensive inside presence – The Warriors parted with both Festus Ezeli and Andrew Bogut, their 2 best defensive centers.

Without Bogut, Cleveland dominated inside. Who is going to pick up the slack on the defensive end in the paint?

The San Antonio Spurs replaced the retired Tim Duncan with Pau Gasol. Cleveland is huge inside. This, more than anything, could prove troublesome for the Warriors come playoff time.

The Golden State Warriors are a big -125 favorite to win the NBA Championship this season.

Should pay per head agents set max betting limits on the Warriors? They should but it shouldn’t be anything too low.

Remember, for the right to bet on the Warriors, players are going to have to invest more than they normally would.

Considering that the Warriors winning the championship at -125 isn’t a given, any max betting limit below $500 might be overdoing it.
