NIT Tournament odds for Connecticut vs. Virginia Tech were listed at Virginia Tech -4 ½ at SBG GlobalThis game goes off Monday, 7:00 pm Eastern - ESPN

Two teams that were disappointed not to make the NCAA Tournament meet on Monday in NIT action as Virginia Tech plays host to Connecticut in a game that can be seen on ESPN.  The Hokies really believed they should have been in the big dance but they are happy to still be playing in the NIT. "No one wants the season to end. It's a great opportunity to get one of the best basketball programs in the country to come to your home court." Virginia Tech head coach Seth Greenberg said, "I'm not sure Jim (Calhoun) will be scheduling a home-and-home series with us in the near future - for sure, not a one-game series - so how many times do you get to play Connecticut on your court?"

Virginia Tech beat Quinnipiac in the first round while Connecticut just got past Northeastern.  If the Huskies don't play better than they did against Northeastern they are likely to get blown out at Virginia Tech. The Hokies only lost one game at home all college basketball betting season.
They routed Quinnipiac 81-61 in the first round of the NIT. "I'm not sure we played great, but we were ready to play," Greenberg said. "That was more important than playing great. We didn't always play well, but we played hard."

Connecticut has the talent to win with Kemba Walker, Jerome Dyson and Stanley Robinson but far too often they don't show up.  Greenberg believes the Huskies will play well though. "Being a little closer to getting to New York, I'm sure we'll get their best shot," Greenberg said.

Connecticut holds a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Huskies are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog. The Huskies are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 non-conference games. The Huskies are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

The Hokies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Hokies are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 vs. the Big East.

The Under is 6-0 in the Huskies last 6 vs. the ACC. The Under is 8-3 in the Huskies last 11 overall. The Over is 7-1 in the Hokies last 8 vs. the Big East.

The Over is 23-11 in the Hokies last 34 games as a home favorite.
