This is probably the best game of the day, at least on paper as both teams have near identical records and no more than 4 losses (Louisville has only 3).  Against The Spread is a different story entirely as the Cardinals have had an especially difficult time covering this season.  They are just 5-12-2 ATS and 3-12-2 ATS in their last 17 games overall while UNC is two games over .500 Against The Spread.  Of even greater concern perhaps, the Cardinals are just 1-9-2 ATS in their last 12 home games.

UNC has also won the last two games of this series over the past two years.  These are the only recent meetings between UNC and LOU.

The Tar Heels come into this game having won six straight and nine of their last ten overall.

"It's been different from one game to the next," coach Roy Williams said of the winning streak. " ... If I had to think of one thing, probably just the competitiveness, the toughness, we kept playing regardless of if things are going good, things are going bad."

North Carolina averages 38.8 paint points per game, most among major conference teams. The Tar Heels outscore opponents by 15.0 points per game in the paint, the largest paint differential among major conference teams.   They also rebound 43% of their missed shots, the second-highest offensive rebounding percentage in the nation (Baylor - 44%).

North Carolina will certainly be tested over the remaining portion of this season as they have the fourth-hardest remaining schedule in the nation, according to BPI, with four remaining games against teams ranked in the top 11 of BPI.

Louisville has the ACC's highest steal percentage, block percentage and opponent turnover percentage.

The OVER is 11-2 in Lousiville’s last 13 vs. Atlantic Coast.  That total was posted at 144.5.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
