Pittsburgh vs. Virginia Point Spread: Panthers Just 1-9-1 ATS on the Road

The Pittsburgh vs. Virginia point spread was into the double digits even though the Panthers do have a respectable 17-9 record coming into this game.  Virginia has just one loss on the season thus far though.

Virginia is 13-9 Against The Spread while Pittsburgh is 7-15-1, having had a tough time covering games this season.

UVA had beaten Pittsburgh in their most recent head-to-heads, but both times by just three points.  The line on this game was set at -12.5.

Pittsburgh is a dismal 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 road games.  It doesn’t help that they will be in unfamiliar territory.  This will be the Panthers first visit to Charlottesville since 1976.

Pittsburgh believes their defense can keep Virginia contained.

"What they've done defensively speaks for itself," Panthers coach James Dixon stated.  "We understand that and have to guard them well to make them take jump shots. We'll do everything we can to get ready."

The Panthers will likely try to keep the Cavaliers on the outside where Virginia is shooting just 16.2 percent from 3-point range.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
